About
Hello, I'm Ben.
I first picked up a camera at 18, and ever since, photography has been an integral part of my life.
Originally from Zimbabwe but having grown up in France, studied in the UK, worked in the USA, my path in life has given me a true appreciation for art, people and culture. All of these experiences have given me a unique perspective on life and strengthened my ability to make everyone and anyone feel comfortable in front of camera – something I feel is just as important as the technical and artistic side of photography.
My style of photography blends documentary storytelling, photojournalism and portraiture. I strive to capture the essence of any given moment, whether it's a candid interaction or a carefully composed portrait, with eye-catching cinematic visuals. The end goal: to create compelling photographs that capture anyone and everyone's attention and imagination.
Beyond my professional work, I am the proud father of three gregarious young kids and I try my utmost to capture their infectious energy on camera whenever I can. I’m also an avid triathlete and home cook which allows me to find creative inspiration in the beauty of the great outdoors or the joy of creating delicious meals for my friends and family.
How I work
1. talk
It all starts with a conversation. I want to get better understanding of who you are and what you are looking for. We can meet in person or jump on a call. Feel free to reach out anytime and we can get the proverbial ball rolling.
2. PLan
The pre-production phase of the project is where we spend time planning the photoshoot, from the creative vision to all the nitty gritty logistical detail.
3. Shoot
Time to rock and roll! Every single shoot is unique but they always result in good times and incredible moments caught on camera.
4. Edit
The post-production process involves culling and picking out the best pictures from the shoot, followed by color grading, editing and retouching. I pride myself on staying true to what I captured on camera, enhancing an image rather than transforming it. My goal is to create striking, cinematic images full of life and character.
5. DELIVER
The best, edited photos will be uploaded to an online password protected gallery where you will be able to pick out and download your favorites, and even order prints and wall art should you wish.
6. That's a wrap
You have your photos in hand and memories for a lifetime. Now all that's left to do is enjoy a celebratory cold, crisp beer together!

FAQ

What types of photography services do you offer?
If it involves taking a picture, then chances are I do it. You can see a full list of service offerings here.
How do I book a photography session with you?
Easy peasy. The best way to start is to reach out via the website or email, and let me know what you're interested in doing. I'll then circle back to schedule in a call or meeting to talk more about your project and what you have in mind.
Can we choose the location for our photo shoot?
100%! Location plays a massive role in capturing unique and personalized photographs. Whether it's at your home, a scenic outdoor location, or a venue of your choice, I'm open to capturing your photographs in a place that holds meaning to you. Of course, if you're not sure where to shoot, I'd be happy to help find a suitable location(s).
How long does a typical photo session last?
Each and every shoot is different and as such, the duration varies depending on the type and scope of the project. As a general rule of thumb, here are some rough guidelines to work with:
- Lifestyle and family sessions: 45-90 minutes
- Portraits and headshots: 1-3 hours
- Branding sessions: 4-8 hours
- Events, elopements and weddings: 4+ hours
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
The post-production process typically takes 2 weeks, but it could be more depending on the volume of images and the complexity of editing required.
What happens if the weather is unfavorable on the day of an outdoor shoot?
If the weather doesn't cooperate on the day of an outdoor shoot, we can discuss alternatives such as rescheduling the session or finding a suitable indoor location instead. I want to ensure the best possible outcome and I'll do my very best to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
How much do you charge?
Each and every project is unique and as such, costs vary. The best way to determine costs for any given project is to firstly fill out the contact form after which we can find a time to chat about your creative vision and all the necessary details. I will then be able to provide you with an estimate of costs for the potential work required.
What should I wear?
Honestly, whatever you feel most comfortable in. You can dress up if you wish to though, you’re the star of the show, after all. But when in doubt, choose outfits that have gray, beige or pastel colors.
Where are you based?
I live in a town called Pau, in the beautiful South West of France. However, I shoot all over the world — it's very much a case of "have camera, will travel" kind of set-up!
